Мета вивчення дисципліни: The purpose of studying the subject is to provide students with knowledge, skills and competencies to carry out effective professional activities by ensuring optimal management of occupational health and safety, to form in students responsibility for personal and collective safety and awareness of the need for mandatory performance of all measures to guarantee labour safety at workplaces in full the scope, as well as to provide students with knowledge about the general patterns of occurrence and development of hazards, emergency situations, their properties and their possible impact on human life and health.
Завдання: ІНТ. The ability to solve complex specialized problems and practical problems in the field of transport using the theories and methods of modern transport science based on a systemic approach and taking into account the complexity and uncertainty of the conditions of operation of transport systems. General competencies: ЗК 9. Skills of performing safe activities. ЗК 10. The desire to preserve the environment. professional competences: ФК 9. The ability to evaluate operational, technical and economic, technological, legal, social and environmental components of transportation organizations. ФК 10. Ability to evaluate and ensure the ergonomic efficiency of transportation technologies. ФК 11. Ability to assess and ensure the safety of transport activities. ФК 16. The ability to take into account the human factor in transport technologies.
Learning outcomes: РН1. ПРН9. Develop, plan, implement methods of organizing safe activities in the field of transport systems and technologies РН2. ПРН 20. To study the components of ergonomics of transport technologies. Establish their efficiency and reliability РН3. ПРН 21. Implement methods of organizing safe transport activities РН4. ПРН 26. Investigate human factors issues related to transportation and the implications of errors for safety and management. Identify patterns of human behavior in connection with errors.

Summary of the subject: Fundamentals of Occupational Safety and Health is a complex subject that provides students with theoretical knowledge and practical skills in legal and organizational issues of Occupational Safety and Health, the organization of Occupational Safety and Health at the enterprise, the social and psychological features of safety, the dangers and risk theory, the occupational health and hygiene, ergonomics basics of workplaces’ organization, workplace safety and fire safety, protection from man-made and natural disasters and as well as the active position concerning the practical realization of the principle of prioritizing the protection of life and health of workers in relation to the results of production and non-production activities.

Assessment methods and criteria: Current control: 1. Learning of theoretical materials – test in system «Віртуальне навчальне середовище», oral examination. 2. The execution of individual practical tasks. 3. The execution of laboratory works. 4. Learning of theoretical materials for laboratory works – test in system «Віртуальне навчальне середовище». 5. The execution of calculation and graphical work (control work).
Критерії оцінювання результатів навчання: The criteria for evaluation of the learning outcomes for students: 1. Learning theoretical material is 50 points. 2. The execution of individual practical tasks is 15 points. 3. The execution of laboratory works is 8 points. 4. Learning theoretical material for laboratory works is 12 points. 5. The execution of calculation and graphical work (control work) is 15 points. The total estimation for the subject is 100 points. Procedure and criteria for assigning points and estimations: 1. The maximum points for the correct performance of all individual practical tasks are 15 points. Reports on correctly performed practical tasks should contain the title and purpose of practical work, a list of initial data (task), a description of the used methodology with appropriate explanations, calculation dependencies with the interpretation of used values, correctly performed calculations, and conclusions. 2. The maximum points for the correct performance of all laboratory works are 8 points. Reports on correctly performed laboratory work should contain the name and purpose of laboratory work, brief theoretical information, the procedure of laboratory work, necessary tables for entering measurements of laboratory work, the required calculation dependencies with the interpretation of the used values, correctly performed calculations, conclusions and their interpretation of results. 3. The maximum points for the learning of the theoretical part of laboratory works are 12 points. To obtain the mentioned points, the student must do a test in the system «Віртуальне навчальне середовище». Testing consists of two type’s questions: «multiple choice» and «true-false». Testing time is limited. 4. The maximum points for the learning of the theoretical part are 50 points. Testing time is limited. 6. The maximum points for the execution of calculation and graphical work (control work) are 20 points. Correctly performed calculation and graphical work (control work) should contain the purpose of the work, a list of initial data (task), a description of the used method with appropriate explanations, calculation relationships with the interpretation of the used values, and correctly performed calculations, conclusions and the explanations of the obtained results. 7. Three weeks before the beginning of the semester control each student must submit the calculation and graphical work (control work) to the lecturer for checking. 8. The student must learn the theoretical material (see clauses 2, 4, 5 "Procedure and criteria for assigning points and grades") before the beginning of the semester control. 9. Each student receives his or her evaluation for the subject by summing up his or her results for execution of calculation and graphical work (control work), learning of theoretical material, execution of individual practical tasks, execution of laboratory work and learning of theoretical material for laboratory works.
Порядок та критерії виставляння балів та оцінок: 100–88 points – (“excellent”) is awarded for a high level of knowledge (some inaccuracies are allowed) of the educational material of the component that is contained in the main and additional recommended literary sources, the ability to analyze the phenomena that being studied in their relationship and development, clearly, succinctly, logically, consistently answer the questions, the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 87–71 points – (“good”) is awarded for a generally correct understanding of the educational material of the component, including calculations, reasoned answers to the questions posed, which, however, contain certain (insignificant) shortcomings, for the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical tasks; 70 – 50 points – (“satisfactory”) are given for weak knowledge of the component’s educational material, inaccurate or poorly reasoned answers, a violation of the sequence of presentation, or weak application of theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 49-26 points - ("not certified" with the possibility of retaking the semester control) are awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 25-00 points - ("unsatisfactory" with mandatory re-study) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to navigate when solving practical problems, ignorance of the main fundamental provisions.
