Learning outcomes: - to gain knowledge on the basics features of scientific knowledge and scientific research - to know the methods of collecting information for research in the field of photogrammetry and remote sensing; - to understand the concepts and definitions of scientific experiment; -to know the methods and be able to provide information in photogrammetry; - to be able to use modeling objects studied; - to be able to put observation and experiment; - to be able to apply the methods of analysis and synthesis, induction and deduction; - to be able to apply mathematical methods in scientific research.
Required prior and related subjects: Philosophy; mathematical processing of geodetic measurements Part 1, Part 2; photogrammetry and remote sensing, part 1; photogrammetric technologies in geodesy, cartography and terrain management; geoinformation technologies in geodesy, cartography and terrain management.
Summary of the subject: Introduction. Subject and objectives of the course. The problem practice and its epistemological functions. Cognition as a form of display of the validity and creativity. The practice as a basis of cognition. Truth and practice basics of formal logic and its use in scientific research. The main forms of research. The choice of research topics. Analytical researches. Experimental investigations in photogrammetry and GIS.
Assessment methods and criteria: • written reports on laboratory works, oral questioning (40%) • final control ( measures of control, test): written-oral form (40%) • calculation and graphic work – 20 %
