Credits: 3.00
Department: Department of Hydraulic and Water Engineering
Lecturer: Senior lecturer, PhD Lesya Vovk
Semester: 5 семестр
Mode of study: денна
Learning outcomes: • knowledge of the basic laws of the flow, water supply facilities; • ability to determine the basic hydrographic characteristics of basins of waterbodies • ability to calculate the flow rate, maximum and minimum runoff, and other hydrologic characteristics of water flow both in the presence and the absence of statistical observations; • ability to carry out the relevant hydrometric and research work on water objects and hydraulic facilities, and to perform processing of the received data.
Required prior and related subjects: Prerequisites: • Higher mathematics • Engineering geodesy • Technical Mechanics of Liquid and Gas • Hydraulics of Channel and Facilities Co-requisites • Hydraulic Facilities • Water Intake Facilities
Summary of the subject: Water cycle in nature. Water bodies and their hydrological regime, hydrological research methods. Hydrology of the rivers. Types of power and phase of the water regime of rivers. Level and thermal regime of rivers. Kinematics of river flow. Formation of river sediments and their characteristics. Hydrology of lakes and wetlands. Hydrometric monitoring and measurement. Determination of water. Hydrological calculations. The rate of flow. The maximum and minimum flow.
