Characteristics of the educational program: Expected application of acquired competences are integral in shaping the healthy personality expert of general practice in social welfare ready for professional activity at all levels of practice, the creative solution of problems of various kinds Social Welfare and customer satisfaction based on the results of scientific research and evidence-the practice of social security (Social Welfare), the promotion of social development; capable of self-development, self-actualization, self-fulfillment. The basic principles of Social Welfare are: the principle of equal rights to social and economic security, the principle of an integrated approach, the principle of short-term and long-term aspects of security, the principle of targeting, the principle of partnership and voluntary, humanitarian principles, principles of administration and planning of social assistance, principle of oversight and accountability, the principle of professional preparedness practice, the principle of equal rights, the principle of differentiation, the principle terms of security, the principle of humanity, based on the principle of ethics. Among the common methods, which should have specialist of general practice Social Welfare are: general philosophical, general scientific, special. The key techniques in the field of social security are: socio-economic, organizational and administrative, legal, sociological, statistical, psychological, diagnostic, individual and group methods, the method of Social Welfare in the community. The expert must possess active and passive methods of Social Welfare, special social technologies as a kind of tactical and operational impact on social object. Competitor of higher education should learn to use computers, special software, and databases that are used in professional activities.
Gained competence: •knowledge of the area of human resources and employment; •knowledge of mediation mechanisms, and advocacy of interests of different social groups; •to know the methodology of research and interpretation of obtained results of planning and implementation of inspection events; •to know the methodology of research and interpretation of obtained results of planning and imnplementation of direct social assistance; •to know methodology of research and interpretation of obtained results of planning and imnplementation of insurence events; •to know methods of individual calculations of comprehensive income, subsadies appointment, social assistance provision to vulnerable categories of population, unemployment assistance provision; •to know methods of individual calculations of different types of insurencs payments; •to know different types of inspections in the social welfare system; •to know legal consequences of funds miuse of social appointment; •to know the investment technologies of social welfare.
•to use oral and written communication of ukrainian language for professional activities; •to apply methods of data collection: document analysis, surveys and monitoring; •to use statistical, methodological and regulatory framework for social welfare system; •to use mechanisms for appointment of financial social assistance, pensions; •to apply general knowledge of the basics of economic aid facilities of social protection; •to use a basic knowledge of the principles of government social policy and ways of social welfare of the population; •to use the means of social and legal policy in the field of social protection, basic knowledge of jurisprudence and legislation of Ukraine in the field of social security; •to identify willingness to interact with colleagues, to make management decisions in of organization of work of performers; •to establish and maintain relationships with organizations and institutions in order to attract them to social protection; •to carry out the distribution of socio-economic assistance to small populations protected by the resources of ngos and industry trade unions; •to apply the legal framework to protect the rights and freedoms of various social groups; •to apply the legal and regulatory framework of insurance to protect social groups; •use of the regulatory framework during inspections; •to use their knowledge for professional counseling of the consumers of services social welfare; •to work effectively both individually and as part of an interdisciplinary team.
•to define terms of socio-economic support for different categories of people; •to carry out the analysis and coordination of material and economic protection of various categories of the population.

Work placement(s): An important aspect of preparation of specialists in social security (Social Welfare) are educational and qualification practices that take place in the institutions of social protection, such as Departments of Social Welfare of regional state administrations, the structural units of the Pension Fund of Ukraine, Employment Fund of Ukraine, the Social Insurance Fund of Ukraine.

Other program features: The program provides practical training in governmental and non governmental institutions, the function of which is social security in Ukraine. Chance of academic mobility for educational programs and training programs in Europe and Canada. Some elements of the program are taught in English.
