Learning outcomes: - the ability to demonstrate the professional competences acquired in the process of mastering different disciplines; - ability to demonstrate professional skills acquired in the process of passing industrial and undergraduate practice; - the ability to apply universal principles of coexistence and ethical standards of behavior to humans and the environment; - to carry out self-analysis and self-assessment, to eliminate bad habits and own shortcomings, to respect the traditions and customs of the Ukrainian people and the cultural heritage of civilizations, to apply socio-ecological knowledge of coexistence in the environment; - apply basic knowledge of directions, forms, methods of scientific research in the field of social security; - use scientific knowledge in the field of informatics and modern information technologies; - use financial social assistance assistance mechanisms; - the ability to use knowledge comprehensively in solving socio-economic problems of society; - use basic knowledge of the principles of state social policy and ways of social security of the population; - identify patterns of social, political and economic development of the state and the possibility of forming a system of social protection of Ukraine; - apply the means of social and legal policy in the field of social protection, basic knowledge of the law and legislation of Ukraine in the field of social security; - analyze and explain current processes in the social sphere and social security; - search for information from different sources to solve professional problems; - systematically think and apply creative abilities to form new ideas; - critically evaluate the results obtained, elaborate and reasonably defend the decisions made on the basis of actual / empirical practice data; - to combine theory and practice, as well as to make decisions and develop a strategy of activity for solving problems of the specialty taking into account common human values, public and state interests.

Summary of the subject: Social policy: local and global. Social protection and social security in the conditions of globalization of social processes. Modern sociology about current problems of society. Methods of social research. Presentation and interpretation of sociological information in mass media. Social inequality of modern society as an object of social security. Socio-demographic structure of society. Socio-economic inequality: the problem of poverty. Inequality and Education in Modern Society: Ukrainian and Global Aspects. Deviation as a factor of destabilization of society and an object of social policy. Crisis phenomena of the modern family. War: social consequences and ways of overcoming. Social changes and challenges of modern society.
Assessment methods and criteria: • ongoing monitoring: performances with essays and papers on the subject of the course, verbal examination (40%) • final control: written examination in the form of testing (60%)
