Learning outcomes: 1. To identify the causal links between the development of society and the manifestations of socio-economic problems in different categories of the population; 2. Ability to apply the statistical, methodological and regulatory framework of the social protection system; 3. Apply basic knowledge about the basics of economic assistance to social protection facilities; 4. Use basic knowledge of the principles of state social policy and ways of social security; 5. To determine the conditions of socio-economic support of different categories of the population; 6. Identify social problems and needs and the causes of their occurrence, development trends, consequences, social status of certain categories of the population; 7. Analyze the effectiveness of socio-economic support of the population and make appropriate adjustments within the competence; 8. Analyze and assess the level of material and economic protection of different categories of the population; 9. Explain current processes in the social sphere and social security

Summary of the subject: Subject and objectives of the course "Economic foundations of social security". Interrelation and interdependence of economic and social policy of the state. Economic aspects of social protection. Regulatory and legal support of the social protection system. Material well-being of the population, its structure and dynamics. Economic status as a factor of differentiation in social security. State social standards and social norms. Models and programs of social security in the welfare states of the world. Financing in the social protection system.
Assessment methods and criteria: Current control (40%): written reports on practical work, oral examination, individual research work. Final control (60%, exam)
