Learning outcomes: Following the completion of the module the student must: • to know about the main processes of automated design of REE, methods of simulation, analysis and optimization of devices on a computer; ways of building and functioning of CAD; characteristics of computers and peripheral devices used in CAD. • learn approaches to the application of mathematical, linguistic, informational, software and organizational support of CAD in radio electronics. • learn the physical basics of functional and schematic design of devices for generating signals of various types of modulation, perform calculations using CAD tools. • to know about the features of application packages of circuit and electrodynamic modeling applications. • to know about the features of analysis of linear microwave devices. • learn the principles of designing microwave devices and antennas in an integrated design; • learn the skills of automated design of microwave devices and antennas.
Required prior and related subjects: Prerequisites: Devices for generating and forming signals, Antenna-feeder devices. Сo-requisites: Basics of modeling and designing software and hardware REM, Basics of the theory of radio engineering systems, Basics of automatic control and robotics.
Summary of the subject: The educational discipline studies the main processes of automated design of REE: modeling, analysis and optimization of LF, HF and UHF devices on a computer; methods of construction, operation and use of CAD, and also teaches: professionally apply theoretical knowledge for: modeling of processes in devices for generating and forming signals, modeling of processes in microwave devices and antennas (in an integrated version), issues of ensuring optimal operating characteristics and parameters; apply basic approaches to the analysis and synthesis of elements of radio and microwave paths; apply methods of automated design of radio-electronic devices.
Assessment methods and criteria: • Current control (40 %): written reports on laboratory work. • Examination control (60%, written and oral form).
