Мета вивчення дисципліни: The purpose of studying the academic discipline and the learning outcomes are to study the physical properties of materials of electronic equipment; studying the physical essence of the processes that occur in conductors, semiconductors, dielectric and magnetic materials; formation of students' ideas about the prospects for the development and application of materials of electronic equipment.
Завдання: Integral competence: the ability to solve complex specialized tasks and practical problems, characterized by complexity and uncertainty of conditions, during professional activities in the field of electronics, or in the process of learning, which involves the application of theories and methods of electronics. General competences: GC2. Knowledge and understanding of the subject area and understanding of professional activity. GC6. Ability to learn and master modern knowledge. GC7. Ability to search, process and analyze information from various sources. Special (professional, subject) competences: SC3. The ability to integrate knowledge of the fundamental sections of physics and chemistry to understand the processes of solid-state, functional and power electronics, electrical engineering. SC9. The ability to determine and evaluate the characteristics and parameters of electronic equipment materials, analog and digital electronic devices for the design of microprocessor and electronic systems, devices of functional, quantum and laser electronics.
Learning outcomes: Program learning outcomes: P4. Evaluate the characteristics and parameters of electronic equipment materials, understand the basics of solid-state electronics, electrical engineering, analog and digital circuit engineering, conversion and microprocessor engineering. P17. Demonstrate skills in conducting experimental research related to professional activity; improve measurement methods; control the reliability of the obtained results; systematize and analyze data obtained experimentally. Communication: K2. Use of communicative competence for effective interaction in various spheres of communication; selection and systematization of information materials for the purpose of communication in the professional sphere. Autonomy and responsibility: AB2. Responsible attitude to professional duties and performed work, independence in making and implementing decisions in the process of overcoming educational difficulties, relying on one's own experience in creatively solving the problems.
Required prior and related subjects: Prerequisites: Physics. Co-requisites: Physics. Physical foundations of electronic technology. Materials and structures of nanoelectronics.
Summary of the subject: The educational discipline is dedicated to the study of the main groups of materials used in electronic technology: dielectrics, semiconductors, conductors and magnetic materials. Basic electrophysical parameters and characteristics of materials, structure, use for electronic devices, semiconductor and hybrid microcircuits are explained. Development directions, new promising types of materials are considered: nanostructured, quantum dimensional, composite and organic materials.

Assessment methods and criteria: Current control: completed and protected laboratory work, solving problems in the classroom, completing homework. Final control: exam.
Критерії оцінювання результатів навчання: Distribution of points on a 100-point scale. Current control (30 points): laboratory works - 20 points; practical work - 10 points. Examination control – 70 points (written component – 50 points, oral component – 20 points).
Порядок та критерії виставляння балів та оцінок: 100–88 points – (“excellent”) is awarded for a high level of knowledge (some inaccuracies are allowed) of the educational material of the component contained in the main and additional recommended literary sources, the ability to analyze the phenomena being studied in their interrelationship and development, clearly, succinctly, logically, consistently answer the questions, the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 87–71 points – (“good”) is awarded for a generally correct understanding of the educational material of the component, including calculations, reasoned answers to the questions posed, which, however, contain certain (insignificant) shortcomings, for the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical tasks; 70 – 50 points – (“satisfactory”) awarded for weak knowledge of the component’s educational material, inaccurate or poorly reasoned answers, with a violation of the sequence of presentation, for weak application of theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 49-26 points - ("not certified" with the possibility of retaking the semester control) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 25-00 points - ("unsatisfactory" with mandatory re-study) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to navigate when solving practical problems, ignorance of the main fundamental provisions.
