Мета вивчення дисципліни: The purpose of the study of the academic discipline and the results of the study are to study the fundamental physical processes underlying modern optoelectronics, and thus to determine its possibilities and ways of further development. The principles of operation, design features and technical characteristics of optoelectronic devices and devices are considered.

Ability to search, process and analyze information from various sources. Special (professional, subject) competences: SC3. The ability to integrate knowledge of the fundamental sections of physics and chemistry to understand the processes of solid-state, functional and power electronics, electrical engineering. SC6. The ability to identify, classify, evaluate and describe processes in electronic devices, devices and systems using analytical methods, modeling tools, test samples and the results of experimental studies. SC9. The ability to determine and evaluate the characteristics and parameters of electronic equipment materials, analog and digital electronic devices for the design of microprocessor and electronic systems, devices of functional, quantum and laser electronics.
Learning outcomes: Program learning outcomes: P1. Describe the principle of operation using scientific concepts, theories and methods and verify the results in the design and application of electronics devices, devices and systems. P2. Apply knowledge and understanding of differential and integral calculus, algebra, functional analysis of real and complex variables, vectors and matrices, vector calculus, differential equations in ordinary and partial derivatives, Fourier series, statistical analysis, information theory, numerical methods for solving theoretical and applied problems of electronics. P4. Evaluate the characteristics and parameters of electronic equipment materials, understand the basics of solid-state electronics, electrical engineering, analog and digital circuit engineering, conversion and microprocessor engineering. P11. Argue the regulatory and legal principles when implementing electronic devices and systems; evaluate the advantages of engineering developments, their environmental friendliness and safety; defend one's worldview positions and beliefs in industrial or social activities. Communication: K2. Use of communicative competence for effective interaction in various spheres of communication; selection and systematization of information materials for the purpose of communication in the professional sphere. Autonomy and responsibility: AB3. Independence in data processing, interpretation and generalization, responsibility for promptness, accuracy and reliability of information submission.

Summary of the subject: The educational discipline is devoted to the study of the fundamental physical processes that underlie modern optoelectronics, and thus to determine its possibilities and ways of further development, the principle of operation, design features and technical characteristics of optoelectronic devices and devices; the study of functional electronics and its place in the development of modern electronic equipment. The main types of functional devices and features of application in the creation of modern electronic devices are analyzed.
Опис: The subject of the discipline and its tasks. General characteristics of the industry. Classification of optoelectronic devices and physical processes in them. Photo-receiving devices. Photoresistors. Photodiodes. Phototransistors. Photothyristors. Light emitting diodes. Optocouplers Integrated optics. Optoelectronic integrated circuits. Dielectric waveguide model. Optical splitters. Photo-receiving devices of optoelectronic integrated circuits. Thin film modulators. Acoustic-optical control devices. Optoelectronic memory devices. Electro-optical deflectors. Acoustic deflectors. Application of metal-dielectric-semiconductor structures in integrated optics. Functional microelectronics and its place in the development of modern electronic equipment. Acoustoelectronics. Optoelectronics Functional dielectric electronics. Functional semiconductor electronics.
Assessment methods and criteria: Current control: control and practical works, performance of individual homework. Final control: exam.
Критерії оцінювання результатів навчання: Distribution of points on a 100-point scale. Current control: practical works - 15 points; laboratory work - 15 points; performance of tests in the State Emergency Service - 10 points. Examination control – 60 points (written component – 55 points, oral component – 5 points).
Порядок та критерії виставляння балів та оцінок: 100–88 points – (“excellent”) is awarded for a high level of knowledge (some inaccuracies are allowed) of the educational material of the component contained in the main and additional recommended literary sources, the ability to analyze the phenomena being studied in their interrelationship and development, clearly, succinctly, logically, consistently answer the questions, the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 87–71 points – (“good”) is awarded for a generally correct understanding of the educational material of the component, including calculations, reasoned answers to the questions posed, which, however, contain certain (insignificant) shortcomings, for the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical tasks; 70 – 50 points – (“satisfactory”) awarded for weak knowledge of the component’s educational material, inaccurate or poorly reasoned answers, with a violation of the sequence of presentation, for weak application of theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 49-26 points - ("not certified" with the possibility of retaking the semester control) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 25-00 points - ("unsatisfactory" with mandatory re-study) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to navigate when solving practical problems, ignorance of the main fundamental provisions.

Мета вивчення дисципліни: The purpose of the course work is to deepen theoretical knowledge and practical skills in studying the influence of variable parameters on the volt-ampere characteristics of photodiodes.

Summary of the subject: The coursework is designed to form and develop the skills and abilities to calculate the structural, technological and physical parameters of a photodiode, which affect its current-current characteristics. The Mathcad software environment is recommended for solving the set tasks of the course work. An explanatory note to a term paper should contain textual and illustrative material. The result of the work is the calculated parameters of the photodiode.
Опис: Stages of course work: 1. Familiarization with the task, the methodology of the course project (term paper) and clarification of the task option. 2. Literature review and analysis of physical processes in optoelectronic devices. 3. Calculation of structural and technological parameters of the transition to the current-voltage characteristic of the photodiode. 4. Calculation of physical parameters for the current-voltage characteristics of the photodiode. 5. Designing a term paper with the presentation of the results of the calculation of the I-V characteristics of the photodiode. 6. Protection of term paper.
Assessment methods and criteria: 1. Current control in the form of a teacher checking parts of the course work according to the description of the stages of the course work. 2. Final control in the form of coursework defense.
