Characteristics of the educational program: As a result of the program , students receive the profound knowledge in the theory and methodology of the study of international relations and world politics, the foundations of international law and international economic relations, the specifics of international organizations, forms and interactions of international actors (cooperation and conflict in the international arena), the Diplomatic and Consular Service, diplomatic etiquette and protocol in international relations, political science, history of political doctrines, country-specific studies and specificity and the vector of foreign policy of Ukraine. Students also receive professional knowledge and practical skills through the study of the history of international relations, main ideas, concepts and theories of international relations, trends in international interactions, particularly Regional studies, globalization and global problems, actual directions of foreign policy of the world (Western, Central and Eastern Europe, Russia and the CIS, Asia and Africa, North and Latin America), and acquire skills of comparing the political systems of these countries. Special attention is given to studying of integration processes at various levels, including the functioning of the European Union. Also, students learn the information and communication technology and principles of public diplomacy in international relations. In addition, students continue the thorough study of several foreign languages, including theory and practice of translation (including translation of conferences and business translation).
Gained competence: LO01. To know and understand the nature of international relations and regional development, evolution, the state of theoretical studies of international relations and world politics, as well as the nature and sources of state policy in the international arena and the activities of other participants in international relations. LO02. To know and understand the nature and dynamics of international security, understand the features of its provision at the global, regional and national levels, know the nature and approaches to resolving international and international conflicts. LO03. To know the nature of international cooperation, the nature of interaction between international actors, the ratio of governmental and non-governmental actors in world politics. LO04. To know the principles, mechanisms and processes of foreign policy, interaction between foreign and domestic policy, definition and implementation in the international arena of national interests, the process of formation and implementation of foreign policy decisions. LO05. To know the nature and mechanisms of international communications. LO06. To know the nature and peculiarities of interactions of individual countries and regions at the global, regional and local levels.
LO07. To carry out a description and analysis of the international situation, collect from various sources the necessary information about international and foreign policy events and processes. LO08. To collect, process and analyze large amounts of information on the state of international relations, foreign policy of Ukraine and other states, regional systems, international communications. LO09. To investigate the problems of international relations, regional development, foreign policy, international communications, using modern political, economic and legal theories and concepts, scientific methods and interdisciplinary approaches, present research results, provide appropriate recommendations. LO10. To speak fluently in the native and foreign languages at the professional level required for professional discussion, preparation of analytical and research documents. LO11. Carry out an applied analysis of international relations, foreign policy of Ukraine and other states, international processes and the international situation in accordance with the objectives, prepare information and analytical documents. LO12. To have the skills of professional interpretation and translation from / into foreign languages, in particular, on professional topics of international cooperation, foreign policy, international communications, regional studies, bilateral and multilateral international projects. LO13. To conduct a professional discussion on the problems of international relations, international communications, regional studies, foreign policy, argue their position, respect opponents and their views. LO14. To use modern digital technologies, specialized software, databases and information systems to solve complex specialized problems in the field of international relations, public communications and / or regional studies. LO15. To understand and apply current legislation, international regulations and agreements, reference materials, current standards and specifications, etc. to solve complex specialized problems of international relations, public communications and regional studies. LO16. To understand and defend the national interests of Ukraine in international activities. LO17. To have the skills to self-determine educational goals and training, finding the necessary educational resources to achieve them. LO18. To know the job responsibilities of the diplomatic and consular staff, the rules of diplomatic protocol and etiquette used in professional communications. LO19. To know the features, development trends, forms, methods and tools of state regulation of regional and cross-border cooperation, international cooperation of regions. LO20. Understand the need for lifelong learning in order to deepen the acquired and acquire new professional knowledge in accordance with the latest stages of development of the theory of international relations, the formulation of new political concepts and visions of the international system.
