Learning outcomes: PH01. To know and understand the nature of international relations and regional development, the evolution, the state of theoretical studies of international relations and world politics, as well as the nature and sources of the policies of states in the international arena and the activities of other participants in international relations. PH02. To know and understand the nature and dynamics of international security, to understand the peculiarities of its provision at the global, regional and national level, to know the nature and approaches to solving international and internationalized conflicts. PH03. To know the nature of international cooperation, the nature of interaction between international actors, the ratio of state and non-state actors in world politics. PH04. To know the principles, mechanisms and processes of ensuring the foreign policy of states, the interaction between foreign and domestic policies, the definition and implementation of the national interests of states on the international arena, the process of forming and implementing foreign policy decisions. PH06. To know the nature and character of interactions of individual countries and regions at the global, regional and local levels. PH08. Collect, process and analyze large volumes of information about the state of international relations, foreign policy of Ukraine and other states, regional systems, international communications. PH09. Research the problems of international relations, regional development, foreign policy, international communications, using modern political, economic and legal theories and concepts, scientific methods and interdisciplinary approaches, present research results, provide relevant recommendations. PH11. Carry out an applied analysis of international relations, foreign policy of Ukraine and other states, international processes and the international situation in accordance with the set goals, prepare informative and analytical documents. PH19. To know the peculiarities, development trends, forms, methods and tools of state regulation of regional and cross-border cooperation, international cooperation of regions. RNVB 1.1 Know and understand the nature, dynamics of international processes in specific spheres of international relations, trends in their development. RNVB 1.2 Carry out a description and analysis of processes, specific situations in the field of international relations and foreign policy through the prism of historical and geopolitical approaches. RNVB 1.4 Research and analyze social, legal, cultural, economic factors affecting the adoption of political decisions at the domestic and international levels. RNVB 1.5 Develop mechanisms for solving current problems and tasks in the field of international relations and foreign policy. AiV 2. The ability to realize the need for lifelong learning in order to deepen the acquired and acquire new professional knowledge.

Summary of the subject: The specialist in international relations: areas of activity and specifics of training. Conceptual and categorical apparatus of specialist in international relations. The structure and methodology of international relations researches. International relations as a social phenomenon: the main features. Types and levels of international relations. The international system: nature, structure and types. Peculiarities of transformation of international system. Subjects of international relations: nature and types. State and non-state actors in the international relations. Foreign policy: nature, principles of implementation. Correlation of domestic and foreign policy. Interest in the international relations. Interconnection of interests, motives and goals of international actors. International and national interest, their correlation. Means of international actors. Force as a means, an attribute of international actors. The essence, appearance and forms of diplomatic activities. Conflicts in international relations. Characteristics of international conflicts and ways of their settlement. Cooperation in international relations: essence and forms. Types of international cooperation and international integration. International order and formation of the modern global world order. Globalization. Global challenges of our time and their solutions.
Assessment methods and criteria: • Current control (40% - oral examination, reports, discussions, writing essays, case-study research, preparation of presentations on a given topic). • Final control (60% - examination - three-level testing).
