Мета вивчення дисципліни: The purpose of studying the academic discipline "Composition and form-making in design, part 1" is for students to acquire knowledge about general concepts of the basics of composition, practical skills of creating projects with an understanding of compositional properties and qualities of individual elements and forms. The course is aimed at familiarizing students with various means of artistic expression; development of ingenuity, creative imagination, artistic intuition; formation of skills of design and other types of thinking that are borderline or included in design: abstract-logical, formal, artistic-figurative, aesthetic, constructive, spatial, functional, ecological, economic, technological.
Завдання: The study of the discipline involves the formation and development of competencies in students: Integral competence (INT): The ability to solve complex specialized problems and practical problems in the field of design, or in the learning process, which involves the application of certain theories and methods of design and is characterized by complexity and uncertainty of conditions. General competences: GC1. Knowledge and understanding of the subject area and understanding of professional activity. GC2. Ability to communicate in the national language both orally and in writing. GC6. The ability to evaluate and ensure the quality of the work performed. GC7. Appreciation and respect for diversity and multiculturalism. Special (professional, subject) competences: CS3. Ability to perform composite construction of design objects. CS5. The ability to apply knowledge of the history of Ukrainian and foreign art and design in artistic and project activities. CS6. The ability to apply special techniques and technologies of work in the relevant materials (by specialization) in design and artistic activities. CS8. The ability to make a color solution of the future design object. CS9. The ability to depict environmental objects and the human figure by means of plastic anatomy, special drawing and painting (according to specializations).
Learning outcomes: As a result of training, the student should be able to demonstrate the following program learning outcomes: PLO7. Analyze, stylize, interpret and transform objects to develop artistic and design solutions. PLO8. Evaluate the design object, technological processes in the context of the design task, form an artistic design concept. PLO10. To determine the functional and aesthetic specificity of form-forming means of design in the communicative space. PLO 11. Develop a compositional solution of design objects in the appropriate techniques and materials. PLO16. Take into account the properties of materials and structural constructions, apply the latest technologies in professional activities. Communication (COM) COM1. Ability to communicate, including oral and written communication in Ukrainian and foreign languages (English, German, Italian, French, Spanish); COM.2 The ability to use various methods, including modern information technologies, for effective communication at the professional and social levels. Autonomy and responsibility (AaR) AaR1. Ability to adapt to new situations and make appropriate decisions. AaR2. The ability to realize the need for lifelong learning in order to deepen the acquired new professional knowledge. AaR3. The ability to take responsibility for the work performed, to make decisions independently, to achieve the set goal in compliance with the requirements of professional ethics. AaR4. The ability to popularize national and world cultural heritage, as well as to promote manifestations of patriotism, national self-awareness and ethno-cultural self-identification. AaR5. The ability to form environmental consciousness and personal culture, to apply ecological principles in life and professional activity.

Assessment methods and criteria: The total amount of points for the semester - 100 points: - graphic works (80%) - term paper (20%)
Критерії оцінювання результатів навчання: 100-88 points - grade "A" ("excellent") is issued if the student demonstrates a high level of knowledge of the educational material in the given volume, the necessary level of skills and abilities, correctly and reasonably makes the necessary decisions in various non-standard situations, clearly, succinctly, logically, consistently answers the questions asked, and also knows how to apply theoretical provisions during solving practical tasks; 87-80 points - grade B ("very good") is given for knowledge of the educational material of the module above the average level, including calculations, reasoned answers to the questions asked (certain inaccuracies are possible), the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 79-71 points - grade C ("good") is awarded for the student's generally correct understanding of the educational material, including reasoned answers to the questions (certain (insignificant) deficiencies are possible). The student has mastered the basic theoretical material and is able to use knowledge to solve standard problems. 70-61 points - grade D ("mediocre") is given for mediocre knowledge of the learning material of the module, poorly reasoned answers, weak application of theoretical provisions when solving practical problems, and the transformation of skills in new conditions causes certain difficulties. 60-50 points - grade E ("satisfactory") is awarded for weak knowledge of the module's educational material, inaccurate or unargued answers, with a violation of the sequence of presentation, for weak application of theoretical knowledge in practice, which, however, is not an obstacle to further training; 49-26 points - the FX rating ("unsatisfactory" with the possibility of re-scoring) is awarded for ignorance of the main part of the educational material of the module, significant errors in answering questions, inability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 25-00 points grade F ("unsatisfactory" with mandatory re-study of the module) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the module, significant errors in answering questions, inability to navigate when solving practical problems, ignorance of the main fundamental provisions
