Мета вивчення дисципліни: The purpose of studying the academic discipline "Composition and form-making in design, part 2" is for students to acquire knowledge about general concepts of the basics of form-making, practical skills in the formation of three-dimensional models with an understanding of the compositional properties and qualities of individual elements and forms. The course is aimed at forming spatial thinking skills.
Завдання: The study of an academic discipline involves the formation and development of students' competencies: INT. The ability to solve complex specialized tasks and practical problems in the field of design, or in the learning process, which involves the application of certain design theories and methods and is characterized by complexity and uncertainty of conditions. General competences: GC1. Knowledge and understanding of the subject area and understanding of professional activity. GC2. Ability to communicate in the national language both orally and in writing. GC4. Ability to search, process and analyze information from various sources. GC6. The ability to evaluate and ensure the quality of the work performed. GC7. Appreciation and respect for diversity and multiculturalism. Special (professional, subject) competences: CS2. The ability to form, layout and model design objects. CS3. Ability to perform composite construction of design objects. CS4. Ability to apply project graphics skills in professional activities. CS6. The ability to apply special techniques and technologies of work in the relevant materials (by specialization) in design and artistic activities. CS8. The ability to make a color solution of the future design object.
Learning outcomes: As a result of mastering the module students must: 1. Master the basic compositional concepts and terms, understand the laws of composition and formation. 2. Gain skills of displaying three-dimensional shapes. 3. Develop the ability to visually perceive design elements and their design. 4. Be able to analyze natural, architectural, industrial forms when they are included in compositional solutions. 5. Gain skills in working with different materials, volume, shape, space. As a result of training, the student must be able to demonstrate the following program learning outcomes: PLO7. Analyze, stylize, interpret and transform objects to develop artistic and design solutions. PLO8. Evaluate the design object, technological processes in the context of the design task, form an artistic design concept. PLO10. To determine the functional and aesthetic specificity of form-forming means of design in the communicative space. PLO 11. Develop a compositional solution of design objects in the appropriate techniques and materials. PLO16. Take into account the properties of materials and structural constructions, apply the latest technologies in professional activities. Communication (COM) COM1. Ability to communicate, including oral and written communication in Ukrainian and foreign languages (English, German, Italian, French, Spanish); COM.2 The ability to use various methods, including modern information technologies, for effective communication at the professional and social levels. Autonomy and responsibility (AaR) AaR1. Ability to adapt to new situations and make appropriate decisions. AaR2. The ability to realize the need for lifelong learning in order to deepen the acquired new professional knowledge. AaR3. The ability to take responsibility for the work performed, to make decisions independently, to achieve the set goal in compliance with the requirements of professional ethics. AaR4. The ability to popularize national and world cultural heritage, as well as to promote manifestations of patriotism, national self-awareness and ethno-cultural self-identification. AaR5. The ability to form environmental consciousness and personal culture, to apply ecological principles in life and professional activity.

Summary of the subject: Basic concepts of compositions, balance, symmetry and asymmetry, metric and rhythmic repetition, contrast and nuance in color, associations and techniques of styling, statics and dynamics, tectonics, proportions and proportionality, the ratio of masses and shapes
Опис: 1 Volumetric and three-dimensional structures. Statics and dynamics in three-dimensional compositions. Task: to depict three-dimensional three-dimensional models with pronounced compositional characteristics of statics and dynamics on a paper plane. Execution format: 300 x 300 mm. Material: gouache, ink, markers. 2 Rhythm and meter in three-dimensional compositions. Task: to depict three-dimensional three-dimensional models (friezes) with pronounced compositional characteristics of rhythm and meter on the plane of paper. Execution format: 300 x 300 mm. Material: gouache, ink, markers. 3 Comprehensive report. Task: on the plane of the paper, make a report composition of three-dimensional modules, with a number of repetitions of at least 4 on each side of the format. Execution format: 300 x 300 mm. Material: gouache, ink, markers. 4 Forming on the plane and in the volume. Point, line, plane, volume. Creation of a model that combines the basic component forms into a coherent structure. 5 Point as a phenomenon on the plane and in the volume. Types of dot elements. Point conversion. Compositions of dot elements. 6 The line as a phenomenon on the plane and in the volume. Types of linear elements. Rules for transformation of linear elements. Creating a stable form using linear elements. 7 Line and plane. The relationship between a line and a plane. Creating an elastic form that combines linear and planar elements (form-membrane). 8 The plane as a phenomenon in two-dimensional and three-dimensional coordinate systems. Types and characteristics of planar elements. Spatial transformation of a flat planar element. 9 Volume as an object of a three-dimensional coordinate system. Types and characteristics of volumetric elements. The combination of three-dimensional elements into a single form. 10 Operations with volumes. The flow of one volume into another. 11 Variable structures as a means of solving project tasks. Transformation. Types of transformation. Transforming forms. 12 Variable structures as a means of solving project tasks. The concept of comprehensibility. Collapsible forms. 13 Function and form. Concept of function. Relationship between function and form. 14 Environment and form. Environment. Types of environment. The influence of the environment on the form. 15 Form and sociocultural environment. Ethnocultural tradition, historical artistic styles, types of natural or artificial environments and their influence on the formation of form.
Assessment methods and criteria: The total amount of points for the semester - 100 points: - graphic works (80%) - term paper (20%)
Критерії оцінювання результатів навчання: When evaluating tasks, the quality and completeness of their execution, understanding of the task and the logic of its solution in a visual form are taken into account; - the ability to select and apply the necessary materials and tools for the implementation of tasks; - the ability to independently work with additional sources, analyze analogues, samples, compare and choose the most appropriate option; - creation of a creative solution based on technical and artistic principles.
Порядок та критерії виставляння балів та оцінок: 100-88 points - ("excellent") is assigned for a high level of knowledge (some inaccuracies are allowed) of the component's educational material contained in the main and additional recommended literature sources, the ability to analyze the phenomena studied in their interconnection and development, clearly, concisely, logically, consistently answer the questions posed, the ability to apply theoretical provisions in solving practical problems; 87-71 points - ("good") is assigned for a generally correct understanding of the educational material of the component, including calculations, reasoned answers to the questions posed, which, however, contain certain (insignificant) shortcomings, for the ability to apply theoretical provisions in solving practical problems; 70 - 50 points - ("satisfactory") is assigned for poor knowledge of the educational material of the component, inaccurate or poorly reasoned answers, with a violation of the sequence of presentation, for poor application of theoretical provisions in solving practical problems; 49-26 points - ("not certified" with the possibility of repeating the semester control) is assigned for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to apply theoretical provisions in solving practical problems; 25-00 points - ("unsatisfactory" with mandatory re-study) is assigned for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to navigate while solving practical problems, ignorance of the basic fundamental provisions.
