Мета вивчення дисципліни: The purpose of the study in the 1st year of the discipline "History of art, architecture and design", part 2, is to study the main stages of the development of art and architecture of the peoples of the world in accordance with the changes in socio-economic formations from Antiquity to the Late Renaissance, as well as to stimulate the student to the understanding of the laws of form development, the role of art and architecture as means of the material and spiritual heritage of humanity, the study of iconic artistic monuments, which contributes to the development of creative thinking.
Завдання: As a result of studying the academic discipline, the student should be able to demonstrate the following results: 1. Knowledge of the terminology of the history of art and architecture and the main historical stages of the development of world art and architecture; 2. Understanding the philosophical and worldview characteristics of the formation of historical styles, eras; 3. Identify the most important monuments of art and architecture and remember their attribution; 4. Apply relevant theoretical knowledge for the analysis of historical monuments, works of design and design projects; 5. The ability to identify archetypal structures, recurring themes, iconographic types in works of art; 6. The ability to distinguish the main styles; 7. Use the acquired theoretical knowledge in the design or restoration of individual products and object complexes. The task of the academic discipline is to deepen the students' knowledge of art history, the history of architecture, and the culture of the countries of the world from the period of Antiquity to the Late Renaissance, to teach the student to understand the influence of ideas that shaped the economic, political, and intellectual life of various peoples of the world on the development of art and architecture. To present to students for consideration information about iconic works of art, the development of construction techniques and constructive solutions, as well as the peculiarities of architectural planning and urban planning methods of the main architectural monuments and their complexes. To learn to freely lead a discussion and argue statements using material from the history of art and architecture of different eras and countries.
Learning outcomes: Program learning outcomes: PRN7. Analyze, stylize, interpret and transform objects to develop artistic and design solutions PRN13. To know the assets of the national and world cultural and artistic heritage, to develop eco-culture using design PRN14. To use manifestations of Ukrainian mentality, historical memory, national self-identification, and creative self-expression in professional activities; apply historical creative experience, as well as successful Ukrainian and foreign artistic practices. PRN15. To understand Ukrainian ethno-cultural traditions in the stylistic solutions of design objects, to take into account the regional peculiarities of ethno-design in artistic practices. PRN18. Ability to communicate, including oral and written communication in Ukrainian and foreign languages (English, German, Italian, French, Spanish); КOM.2 The ability to use various methods, including modern information technologies, for effective communication at the professional and social levels. The ability to realize the need for lifelong learning in order to deepen the acquired new professional knowledge. AіВ3. The ability to take responsibility for the work performed, to make decisions independently, to achieve the set goal in compliance with the requirements of professional ethics. AіВ4. The ability to popularize national and world cultural heritage, as well as to promote manifestations of patriotism, national self-awareness and ethno-cultural self-identification. AіВ5. The ability to form environmental consciousness and personal culture, to apply ecological principles in life and professional activity.

Summary of the subject: The educational discipline "History of art, architecture and design, part 2" is taught to students of the first year of the specialty 022 "Design" of IARD NU "Lviv Polytechnic". This course is one of the basic ones in the complex of professional training of Design students, structurally it includes two parts – theoretical and practical. The course aims to provide students with basic knowledge of the theory of visual art, highlight the historical stages of the art of the Ancient World, the Middle Ages, and the Renaissance; worldview factors that influence the development of forms, images, works of art and architectural structures. The lecture course includes the study of the features of the most important monuments of world architecture, fine and decorative arts, and sculpture. The teaching of the history of art and architecture of Ukraine is carried out simultaneously with the coverage of the historical and artistic processes of world artistic culture. The study of the discipline by students involves the study of factual material based on historical sources relevant to the course program, art, architectural special studies, publications, acquiring the ability to conduct an independent scientific search (with literary sources, archives, museum works), forming a basic historiography on the problems of the world history of art, architecture and culture, mastering professional terminology, carrying out the identification of individual concepts, artistic phenomena, styles, stylistic trends; performance of compositional analysis of works of art and architectural structures, analogues of their solution; comparison of artistic historical processes in different countries and epochs; the use of knowledge and skills in working with computer equipment for the formation of infographics and presentations using sketches, graphic images of works of art, orthogonal projections of objects, summary tables, historical material and the formulation of independent conclusions.

Assessment methods and criteria: Determining the level of students' knowledge is carried out by the following methods of knowledge diagnosis: current control of work in practical classes, control of students' independent work (tests, performance of individual research tasks), testing and survey, which is a mandatory final form of control, which allows to evaluate systematic assimilation of educational material. Determining the level of knowledge of students in the discipline "History of Art, Architecture and Design, part 2" is carried out by passing test questions in the VNS NU "Lviv Polytechnic" at the address of the course: https://vns.lpnu.ua/course/view.php? id=6311
Критерії оцінювання результатів навчання: During the semester, for current control and independent work, a student can score up to 50 points. The maximum score is 50 points. To be admitted to the credit, a student must score at least 20 points for the current control. When evaluating the tasks, the completeness of the composition of the completed task, compliance with the assigned tasks are taken into account: - the ability to identify and work with visual materials in accordance with the themes of the historical artistic style; - the ability to analyze the defining and stylistic characteristics of works and methods of their compositional construction when sketching details, ornaments, interior and exterior elements; - to show creativity and a creative approach in the technique of filing, layout on a sheet - to present the materials of graphic tasks in a timely manner and in the necessary volume. Assessment in the discipline "History of Art and Architecture" is conducted in written form (50 points per test). A student receives a maximum of 50 points for correct answers to 15 test questions, which are set as follows: 44-50 points - "excellent" answer; 35-43 points – a "good" answer; 25-34 points – a “satisfactory” answer; 0 -33 points – an “unsatisfactory” answer.
Порядок та критерії виставляння балів та оцінок: 100-88 points - the grade "A" ("excellent") is given if the student demonstrates a high level of knowledge of the educational material in the given volume: primary sources, works of art and architecture, terminology; has a high level of artistic thinking, abilities and skills, correctly and reasonably makes the necessary decisions in various non-standard situations, clearly, succinctly, logically, consistently answers the questions asked;87-80 points - grade B ("very good") is awarded for knowledge of the educational material of the module above the average level, reasoned answers to the questions (some inaccuracies and minor errors are possible) testify to knowledge of the basic literature and the ability to systematize, generalize and apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 79-71 points - grade C ("good") is awarded for the student's generally correct understanding of the educational material, including reasoned answers to the questions asked (certain (insignificant) shortcomings are possible, inaccuracies in the use of special terminology, in the interpretation of works of art or in non-independent formulation evaluation of works of architecture, art). However, the student has mastered the basic theoretical material and is able to use knowledge to solve standard tasks. 70-61 points - grade D ("mediocre") is given for mediocre knowledge of the learning material of the module, poorly reasoned answers, insufficient special terminological vocabulary, inability to generalize, weak application of theoretical provisions when solving practical problems, and the transformation of skills into new ones conditions causes certain difficulties. 60-50 points - grade E ("satisfactory") 49-26 points - the FX rating ("unsatisfactory" with the possibility of re-scoring) i 25-00 points grade F ("unsatisfactory" with mandatory re-study of the module)
