Мета вивчення дисципліни: As a result of studying the discipline, the student has to be able to demonstrate the following: - Knowing the theoretical and methodological basis of the profession of a graphic web designer. - Skill of use of modern methods, tools, and techniques of website design, including the sequence of all developing stages. - Experience in using UI/UX graphic editors (including online) for web designs. - Possession of practical skills in using various web templates and stocks. - Getting acquainted with the working principles of online webpage construction services.
Завдання: The study of an academic discipline involves the development of the following competencies in students: general: Integral competence – The ability to solve complex specialized tasks and practical problems in the field of design, or in the learning process, which involves the application of certain design theories and methods and is characterized by the complexity and uncertainty of conditions. General competences: ZK1. Knowledge and understanding of the subject area and understanding of professional activity. ZK4. Ability to search, process and analyze information from various sources. ZK6. The ability to evaluate and ensure the quality of the work performed. ZK9. The ability to preserve and multiply cultural, artistic, ecological, moral, scientific values and achievements of society based on an understanding of the history and patterns of development of the subject area, its place in the general system of knowledge about nature and society and in the development of society, techniques and technologies, to use various types and forms of motor activity for active recreation and leading a healthy lifestyle. Special (professional, subject) competences: CS1. The ability to apply modern methods of designing single, complex, multifunctional design objects. CS2. The ability to form, layout and model design objects. CS3. Ability to perform composite construction of design objects. CS4. Ability to apply project graphics skills in professional activities. CS7. Ability to use modern software to create design objects. CS8. The ability to make a color solution of the future design object. KS11. The ability to achieve success in a professional career, to develop and present visual presentations, a portfolio of one's own works, to possess entrepreneurial skills for carrying out design activities.
Learning outcomes: The learning outcomes of this discipline detail the following program learning outcomes: PRN7. Analyze, stylize, interpret and transform objects to develop artistic and design solutions. PRN8. Evaluate the design object, technological processes in the context of the design task, form an artistic design concept PRN9. Create design objects by means of design and graphic modeling. PRN10. To determine the functional and aesthetic specificity of form-forming means of design in the communicative space. PRN11. Develop a compositional solution of design objects using appropriate techniques and materials. PRN17. Apply modern general and specialized software in professional activities (by specialization). KOM1. Ability to communicate, including oral and written communication in Ukrainian and foreign languages (English, German, Italian, French, Spanish); KOM2. The ability to use a variety of methods, including modern information technologies, for effective communication at the professional and social levels. AiV 1. Ability to adapt to new situations and make appropriate decisions. AiV 2. The ability to realize the need for lifelong learning in order to deepen the acquired new professional knowledge. AiV 3. Summary of the subject: The course "Web Design" is one of the components of the complex professional training of students majoring in Design (environmental design). It is designed for one semester and covers 150 hours, it structurally includes theoretical and practical research components. The course project development helps to master all stages of creating a web page design and explains the prototyping' nuances, and UI/UX design. Students studying the features in using typography and various graphic formats, as well as the psychology of the color impact in web design.

The concept of Web design - The beginning of the visual era (1990) - Appearance of graphic content (jpeg, gif) - Flash technologies - the renaissance of web design - The appearance of CSS cascading style tables - a reversal of the trend (1998) - Web 2.0 - as an "industrial revolution in web design" - A revolution in the consumption of web content on mobile devices Topic 2. The main stages of creating a website. - Studying analogs, searching for an idea. - Domain registration, features of posting the finished product to the network. - SEO and SMM. Maintenance of site functionality after project delivery. Topic 3. Design and creation of a prototype. - What is a prototype, concepts of wireframe and interactive prototype - The benefit of prototyping for the customer and the designer/developer - Prototyping techniques and software available Topic 4. Logo for the site: features of creation and application - What is a logo and why is it needed for the site - Key features of the logo - The main types of logos - What should be the logo for the site - How to create a logo Topic 5. Using Modular Grids for Design Aesthetics, Functionality, and Ensuring Responsiveness of a Web Page - What is a grid, a brief history of grids in world practice - Grid theory, types of grid layouts - Grids as the main tool of adaptive design - Best practices for using grid layouts Topic 6. Color harmony and types of graphic images for website design. - Basic characteristics of color - Chromatic color wheel, features of classic, RGB/CMYK color models. - Schemes of a harmonious combination of colors for the color design of the website - Emotional component of color - Peculiarities of using different formats of graphic images Topic 7. Typography in web design. - Basics of typography - Concept of standard and non-standard web fonts - The main rules for using fonts on a web page - Using icon fonts (icon fonts) Topic 8. Elementary basics of HTML - What is HTML, the main tags to form the structure of a web page - Tags for working with text, images, hyperlinks - Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) - Code editors and web inspector
Assessment methods and criteria: Current control (40%): practical work, individual graphic tasks. Final control (60%): test (written) component of the exam. The exam is the test questions in the Lviv Polytechnic's VNS.
Критерії оцінювання результатів навчання: Completeness, logicality, correct sequence of execution, and demonstration of the following skills are taken into account during the assessment: - the skill of getting relevant analogs, being aware of the latest technologies, tools, and trends in the field of web design - abling to come up with and register a domain name, choose a way of publishing a page on the Internet - knowledge of modern desktop and online software products for creating websites or other UX/UI projects (Adobe Photoshop, Adobe XD, Figma, InVision, etc.) - the technical and artistic principles understanding of creating mockups, logos, and the use of color palettes and fonts depending on the specifics of the chosen area - skills in the creation of adaptive desktop and tablet/smartphone web-UI versions - know the basics of HTML and CSS, and be able to present your own work to the customer
Порядок та критерії виставляння балів та оцінок: 100–88 points – (“excellent”) is awarded for a high level of knowledge (some inaccuracies are allowed) of the educational material of the component contained in the main and additional recommended literary sources, the ability to analyze the phenomena being studied in their interrelationship and development, clearly, succinctly, logically, consistently answer the questions, the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 87–71 points – (“good”) is awarded for a generally correct understanding of the educational material of the component, including calculations, reasoned answers to the questions posed, which, however, contain certain (insignificant) shortcomings, for the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical tasks; 70 – 50 points – (“satisfactory”) awarded for weak knowledge of the component’s educational material, inaccurate or poorly reasoned answers, with a violation of the sequence of presentation, for weak application of theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 49-26 points - ("not certified" with the possibility of retaking the semester control) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 25-00 points - ("unsatisfactory" with mandatory re-study) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to navigate when solving practical problems, ignorance of the main fundamental provisions.

Мета вивчення дисципліни: The purpose of teaching the discipline is to deepen the professional knowledge of students in their comprehensive training in the profession, by familiarizing them with the basic theoretical foundations, principles and methods of designing websites. As a result of the practical course, students should have an idea of the place and role of a graphic designer in the development of website design elements and navigate the latest industry trends.
Завдання: The study of an educational discipline involves the formation of competencies in students of education: INT. The implementation of the course project helps to master all stages of creating web page design elements and explains the nuances in the creation of illustrations, design of user web interfaces (UI / UX), advertising banners. Students study the application of printing and various graphic formats, as well as the psychology of human impact in web design. Course project topic: "Virtual map"

Assessment methods and criteria: Current control is carried out in the course of study and makes it possible to determine the degree of formation of knowledge, skills, abilities of students, in addition, stimulates the responsibility of students to prepare for each lesson. Determining the level of knowledge of students in the discipline "Web Design (KP)" is carried out by passing the current tasks and course project.
