Summary of the subject: The course "Multimedia Design" is designed for one semester of study, covers a total of 180 hours and structurally includes practical classes and independent work. The theoretical part of the course covers materials that highlight the key principles of multimedia design in the context of the issues and objectives of the design of visual communications and subject-spatial environment; formation of interactive information space; specifics of multimedia projects and presentations. The practical part of the course sets out the methods and approaches to the use of computer technology in design; manifestation of functional features of the visual-sound series, search for an idea, formation of a sketch proposal, work on the object of multimedia design. Programs for animation and video editing are practically studied. Students learn to work on the project both as a team and independently, to form and implement a design strategy for multimedia communication in today's global cultural and artistic space.
Опис: Topic 1. Definition of terms and concepts in multimedia design. Areas of application of multimedia design in the design of visual communications and in the design of the object-spatial environment. Topic 2. Historical aspects and perspectives of the development of multimedia design. Key principles of multimedia design. Multimedia hardware and software. Software and hardware characteristics. Topic 3. Areas of use of multimedia technologies: education, marketing, training, information environment and communication, scientific research, art, entertainment. Topic 4. Linear and non-linear multimedia projects. Features and areas of application. Advantages and disadvantages. Topic 5. Text, graphics, sound, animation and video in a multimedia project. Work steps and software. Formation of the script and structure multimedia project, installation.
Assessment methods and criteria: Determining the level of students' knowledge is carried out by the following methods of current control: testing, control of current tasks and independent work of the student. Current control is carried out during training and provides an opportunity to determine the degree of formation of students' knowledge, skills, and abilities, in addition, it stimulates students' responsibility for preparing for each lesson. The assessment is a mandatory final form of control that allows you to assess the systematic assimilation of the learning material from "Fundamentals of Multimedia Design" and cannot be reduced to the level of current forms of control.
Критерії оцінювання результатів навчання: During the semester, a student can score up to 40 points (15 points – current control, 25 – for completing test tasks in the National Academy of Sciences). The maximum score is 60 points. To be admitted to the credit, a student must score at least 25 points based on the results of the current control. The assessment of the discipline "Fundamentals of multimedia design" is conducted orally. The student receives 10 points for the oral defense of calculation and graphic work. The second part of the assessment involves a multimedia presentation of the work.
Порядок та критерії виставляння балів та оцінок: 100–88 points – (“excellent”) is awarded for a high level of knowledge (some inaccuracies are allowed) of the educational material of the component contained in the main and additional recommended literary sources, the ability to analyze the phenomena being studied in their interrelationship and development, clearly, succinctly, logically, consistently answer the questions, the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 87–71 points – (“good”) is awarded for a generally correct understanding of the educational material of the component, including calculations, reasoned answers to the questions posed, which, however, contain certain (insignificant) shortcomings, for the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical tasks; 70 – 50 points – (“satisfactory”) awarded for weak knowledge of the component’s educational material, inaccurate or poorly reasoned answers, with a violation of the sequence of presentation, for weak application of theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 49-26 points - ("not certified" with the possibility of retaking the semester control) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 25-00 points - ("unsatisfactory" with mandatory re-study) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to navigate when solving practical problems, ignorance of the main fundamental provisions.
