Learning outcomes: : building knowledge and guidance on the possible employment of specialists in the field of biotechnology and bioengineering: • understanding the formation of the biotechnology industry and science and bioengineering; major historical discovery that made modern biotechnology interdisciplinary science and technology applications in various fields and services obtain bioproduction, protecting the environment and public health; • the ability to search for information on the development and prospects of biotechnology and bioengineering and navigate the current issues bioindusty, bio-economy and bioethics.

Summary of the subject: The scheme of higher education of biotechnology. Qualification and career specialists and professionals - National Classification of Professions (НКП України-2012) and the National Classification of Economic Activities (НКВЕД України-2010). Biotechnology - Interdisciplinary modern science and technology, development, components, processes, methods, discoveries in science and technology. Applications in production, environmental protection and public health; ethical and social issues, a comprehensive system of science-production (the most effective pharmaceutical biological products, food bioproduktion, creating transgenic plants and animals of gene therapy of inherited diseases, waste management, resource and energy conservation, biosafety and biosecurity), the latest achievements and prospects of bioindustry and bio-economy using the latest information INTERNET global network and media periodicals.
Assessment methods and criteria: frontal oral interview and survey; homework group and individual character - graphics multimedia presentation (RGR), individual task (IndZ); rapid testing (RT) reference work (RW) . Current control (CC) - IndZ1 (registration essay and oral defense - 10%), IndZ2 (10 messages on search sites "bio" oral protection and registration message folders -15%), RGR (15%) and participation in scientific paper (including up to 5 points) - 40% Control measure (CM) - IndZ3 (written-oral answers to questions - 10%); EO1, EO2 (20%); CA (30%) - 60% The final semester control (FSC) - the control test: the sum of CC and CM (including possible oral component - no more than 10 points) - 100 points.
