Мета вивчення дисципліни: Providing students with general theoretical knowledge in the field of electrical engineering to the extent that they can correctly choose the necessary electrical equipment and know how to operate it correctly. Obtaining information on the purpose, structure, principle of operation and features of effective and safe operation of electrical equipment, its management and protection. Mastering the calculation of parameters and characteristics and evaluation of technical and economic indicators of electrical installations, sufficient for the successful performance of the relevant professional responsibilities
Завдання: general: • the ability to apply the acquired knowledge based on a professional approach to the main technological and related equipment within the limits of a type of occupation at the level of a specialist with the qualification of the first level of higher education; • the ability to communicate effectively at a professional level; professional: • basic knowledge of theory and methods of analysis, which are necessary for understanding the principles of operation and functional purpose of electrical equipment; • acquisition of knowledge and understanding in the field of electrical engineering, related to the principle of operation and characteristics of electrical equipment, as well as their functioning in combination with other equipment; • the ability to apply acquired knowledge and practical skills to solve typical problems of the specialty, as well as operation of electrotechnical and electromechanical systems; • the ability to put forward arguments regarding the properties of electric motors necessary for a specific technological process, as well as to reasonably choose electrical equipment. • acquisition by students of the skills of applying acquired knowledge with sufficient competence for further study of special educational disciplines. information, ideas, problems and solutions regarding electrical devices of the audience consisting of both specialists and non-specialists; • the ability to use knowledge and skills for calculation, research, selection, implementation, repair and design of electrical and thermal systems and their components;
Learning outcomes: 1. ZK3 Ability to learn and master modern knowledge. 2. ZK 12 Ability to acquire basic knowledge in the field of electrical engineering, necessary for mastering professionally oriented disciplines. 3. Сompetence 2. To carry out the analysis of processes in electric power, electrotechnical and electromechanical equipment, relevant complexes and systems. 4. Сompetence 10. Understand and demonstrate good professional, social and emotional behavior, follow a healthy lifestyle. 5. Сompetence 11. Know the requirements of regulatory acts related to engineering, intellectual property protection, labor protection, and technology safety and industrial sanitation, take them into account when making decisions.

Summary of the subject: The educational discipline outlines the basic laws that underlie the operation of electrical equipment used in the field of production and distribution of electrical and thermal energy. It examines the fundamental concepts of the theory and the main laws and methods of analysis of electrical circuits, the peculiarities of their application to electrical equipment, the principle of operation, design, operating characteristics and functional capabilities of the main lectromechanical converters that form the basis of technological equipment and power equipment.
Опис: Topic 1 Introduction. Basic concepts and definitions. Topic 2 Methods of analysis of direct current electric circuits. Topic 3 Single-phase electrical circuits of sinusoidal current. Topic 4. : Three-phase electric circuits. Topic 5. Electric circuits of non-sinusoidal current. Topic 6. Magnetic materials and their properties. Topic 7 Transformers: purpose, structure, principle of action. Topic 8. Asynchronous electric machines. Topic 9. Synchronous electric machines. Topic 10. Structure and principle of action of a direct current machine.
Assessment methods and criteria: Oral examination, performance of test practical tasks, laboratory reports, exam.
Критерії оцінювання результатів навчання: • written reports on laboratory works, oral questioning, term project (30%) • final exam (70%)
