Мета вивчення дисципліни: To form for students knowledge of the peculiarities of the operation of power equipment (steam boilers, steam turbines, pipelines and auxiliary boiler-turbine equipment), which will allow them to successfully solve theoretical and practical tasks in their professional activities related to the design, testing, adjustment and operation of TPP power equipment , which ensure safety, accident-free operation and high efficiency of operation of thermal power plants.
Завдання: The study of an educational discipline involves the formation of competencies in students of education: general competences: ZK5: ability to apply knowledge in practice; ZK6: the ability to search and analyze information from various sources. professional competences: FK3: basic knowledge of technical characteristics, design features, purpose and rules of operation of thermal power equipment; FCS1.1: ability to apply professionally profiled knowledge and practical skills to solve typical problems of the specialty, as well as operation of systems and equipment of thermal power plants; FCS2.1: ability to apply professionally profiled knowledge and practical skills to solve typical problems of the specialty, as well as operation of heat energy systems and their equipment.
Learning outcomes: PR2: Know and understand the underlying engineering sciences specialty "Thermal Power Engineering" of the corresponding specialization, at the level necessary to achieve other educational results programs, including some awareness of recent advances science and technology in the field of thermal energy. PR5: Select and apply suitable typical analytical, calculation and experimental methods; right interpret the results of such studies. PR12: understand the key aspects and concepts of heat energy, technologies of production, transmission, distribution and use energy PR13: understand the main methods of design and research in thermal energy, as well as their limitations.

Summary of the subject: The discipline provides for the study of the features of operation of modern power equipment, in particular steam boilers, steam turbines, pipelines and auxiliary boiler-turbine equipment. Heat loading schedules, methods of choosing heat engineering equipment, methods of optimizing the operating modes of heat energy facilities, prospects for improving heat schemes and the possibility of operation of heat energy facilities using environmental regulation methods are considered.
Опис: Introduction. The list of heat engineering objects united by the term "Heat power". Classification of operating modes of power equipment. Fuel. Modes of normal operation of equipment for storage, supply and preparation for burning solid, liquid and gaseous fuel. Water treatment. Modes of operation of chemical water treatment equipment and water supply pipelines (corrosion, degassing, water quality control). Water regime of steam and water heating boilers. Thermal deaeration. Operation of the deaerator installation. Switching on, servicing and stopping the deaerator installation. Malfunctions in the operation of the deaerator. Operation of the feeding unit and the feeding pump. Design features of feeding pumps. Start, service and stop of feed pumps. Modes of normal operation of boiler water supply schemes (deaerator-feed pump-boiler). Violation of normal work modes. Condensing unit. Purpose and brief description of the installation. Structure of capacitors. Condensate and circulation pumps. Ejectors. Start and stop of the condensing unit. Vacuum depth and problems in the operation of the condensing unit. Condensate quality. Regenerative installation. Schematic diagram. Structure and connection diagram of heaters. Thermal balance and operating modes of heaters. Maintenance of heaters. Evaporators. Operation of fittings. Pre-commissioning operations of the boiler – hydraulic test, tinning and acid washing, steam test and adjustment of safety valves. Comprehensive testing of the entire steam power plant. Start-up schemes and start-up technologies of drum boilers. Preparation of start-up circuits and the boiler for ignition. Filling the boiler with water, ventilating the furnace and gas ducts. Characteristics of drum boilers: temperature, thermal and economical when changing the following parameters: coefficient of excess air in the furnace; boiler load; feed water and air temperatures; moisture and ash content of fuel; sucked cold air into the furnace. General provisions of the start-up modes of thermal power facilities: deaerator, feed pump; thermal station; hot water and steam supply pipelines; thermal energy consumers. The economy of their work. Optimization of operating modes of thermal power facilities. Improvement of thermal schemes.
Assessment methods and criteria: Current monitoring of practical classes is carried out in order to identify the student's readiness for classes in the following forms: • oral survey before the start of classes; • assessment of the student's activity in the course of classes, submitted proposals, original solutions, clarifications and definitions, additions to previous answers, etc.; • surveys and reports during the practical session. Examination control is carried out in the form of a written and oral survey and/or test control. The final control is carried out based on the results of the current control and semester examination control.

Порядок та критерії виставляння балів та оцінок: 100–88% – awarded for a high level of knowledge (some inaccuracies are allowed) of the educational material of the component contained in the main and additional recommended literary sources, the ability to analyze the phenomena being studied, in their relationship and development, clearly, succinctly, logically , consistently answer questions, ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 87–80% – awarded for knowledge of the educational material of the component above the average level, including calculations, reasoned answers to the questions asked (a small number of inaccuracies are possible), the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 79–71% – a generally correct understanding of the educational material of the component, including calculations, reasoned answers to the questions, which, however, contain certain (insignificant) shortcomings, is awarded for the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 70–61% – awarded for mediocre knowledge of the educational material of the component, poorly reasoned answers, weak application of theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 60–50% – awarded for weak knowledge of the educational material of the component, inaccurate or poorly reasoned answers, with a violation of the sequence of presentation, for weak application of theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 49–26% – is presented for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 25-00% - awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to navigate when solving practical problems, ignorance of the main fundamental provisions, failure to complete the task.
