Learning outcomes: • Have an understanding of the ecological status and prospects of the modern factories of food industry, volumes and characteristics of main waste • Have knowledge of the ecological state of food production, control methods of their physical-mechanical properties and chemical composition; • To be able to develop the technological schemes of by-products and secondary raw materials recycling specific to each food production

Summary of the subject: Characterization of food production wastes. Processing of wastes of meat, milk, sugar, flour, cereal, macaroni, baking, canning and starch productions. Disposal of wastes of fish and oil productions. Disposal of wastes of fermentation, microbiological and enzyme preparations productions. Wastewater treatment and gas emissions purification in food factories.
Assessment methods and criteria: • Writing reports on laboratory work, oral questioning, control work (30%) • Final control (90% control event, test): written-oral form (70%)
