Learning outcomes: • knowledge of the structure and principles of various types of electrical machines and transformers; • the ability to demonstrate in-depth knowledge of physical phenomena in electrical machines and transformers in various modes and describe them mathematically; • the ability to apply gained knowledge of electrical machines and transformers in practice; • basic knowledge of electrical machines and transformers design as well as their structural elements.

Summary of the subject: Major types of electrical machines, their role and importance in modern technology and power engineering. Transformers. Three-phase transformers. Electrical circuits and combinations of three-phase two winding transformers. DC machines. Generators and DC motors. General questions of AC machine theory. Induction machines. Synchronous machines.
Assessment methods and criteria: •written reports on laboratory works, oral questioning, computational and graphic work (30%) •final control (control measure - exam): written and oral form (70%)
