Credits: 5.00
Department: Electric Power Engineering and Control Systems
Lecturer: Associate Professor, Candidate of Technical Sciences Fediv Yevhen Ihorovych
Semester: 5 семестр
Mode of study: денна
Learning outcomes: • principles of construction and installation of modern systems for providing consumers and receivers with electric power (electric power systems (EPS); • schemes and equipment for electric power distribution in medium and low voltage; • ways and means to improve the efficiency and reliability of EPS.
Required prior and related subjects: • Theoretical Foundations of Electrical Engineering • Electric machines, • Electric systems and networks,
Summary of the subject: The current state and trends of the EPS. Theoretical foundations of power supply: the main issues of power supply and methods for their solution; electric load; quality of electricity in EPS; reactive power in EPS, rational voltage for electric grids of EPS. Power distribution at medium voltage. Selecting the number, capacity and locations of power transformer substations. Distribution of electricity at low voltage. Schemes and electric equipment for electric grids of SEP. Structural variations of substations and EPS switchgear, selection of their elements.
Assessment methods and criteria: • written reports on laboratory works, oral questioning, design work (30%) • final control (control measure - exam): written and oral form (70%)
