Learning outcomes: • know the purpose and classification of application software; • know the common software packages for solving power problems; • know the general principles of formation of digital models for solving problems of electric power; • be able to work on a personal computer running the Windows operating system; • be able to work with specialized software packages for solving power problems; • be able to develop and implement algorithms for electrical calculations using specialized applications.

Summary of the subject: Personal computer software. Purpose and classification of application software. AutoCAD computer-aided design system. Dialog automated complex of analysis of DAKAR modes. Software complex REC of the analysis of processes in electric networks, systems of their protection and automatic equipment. GRANOS program of analysis of oscillograms of emergency processes.
Assessment methods and criteria: • written reports on laboratory work, oral examination, job control (100%) • final control - test, the results of this monitoring
