Learning outcomes: • Know the causes and effects of electromagnetic transients, their physical nature, theory research; • know the methods of calculation parameters of electromagnetic transients; ways of further development of methods and means of research; • be able to analyze the emergency situation and choose to study electromagnetic transients adequate mathematical model; • be able to make equivalent circuit parameters and to determine their elements; using engineering methods and programs to determine the coordinates of the transition process and interpret the results;

Summary of the subject: General information about electromagnetic transition process. Causes and effects of transients. Drawing circuits and determine the parameters of settlement schemes basic elements of power stations, substations, lines elektroperesylannya.
