Learning outcomes: • know basic concepts and terms in the theory of electrical machines, circuit engineering, energy-efficient use; • know typical design of main details and components of electrical machines; • be able to choose necessary computational methods of main details and components of electrical machines; • be familiar with design methodology, intermateability and specifications in the electromechanic; • be able to calculate and design typical electromehanotronic devices and equipment.

Summary of the subject: Main dimensions and electromagnetic loads. Switching in dirrect curren motor. The calculation of magnetic circuits. Excitation winding computing. Winding of DC and AC electromechanotronic devices. DC and AC machines parameters. Performances of DC and AC electromechanotronic devices. Losses and efficiency. Thermal calculation of electrical machines. Typical design of modern AC machines for general purpose. Frame of AC electrical machines. Stators of AC electrical machines. Rotors of AC electrical machines. Shafts of electrical machines. End shields and bearing assemblies. Elements of cooling systems. Current-sourcing output elements. Typical design of modern DC machines for general purpose. Frame constructions of DC electrical machines. The main pole cores. Interpole cores. Design of armature core. Current-carrying accessories of DC machines.
Assessment methods and criteria: • written reports on oral questioning, control test (20%) • final control (control measure - exam): written and oral form (80%)
