Learning outcomes: • know the requirements for the operation of power plants and substations; • know the basic rules of operation of main and auxiliary electrical power stations and substations in normal and emergency conditions; • Know the characteristics of its equipment in the normal and emergency modes; • be able to independently organize and lead the economic operation of power stations and substations, and after a training and all the power in the normal and emergency modes; • be able to analyze the possible modes of electrical equipment.

Summary of the subject: General concepts of organization and efficiency of operation. The heating of electrical equipment and control it. Methods of testing preventive isolation electrical equipment. Modes generators. Service generators. Repair of generators. Operating motors own needs. Maintenance transformers. Operating equipment distribution accord high voltage. The elimination of failures in electrical installations.
Assessment methods and criteria: • written reports on laboratory work, oral examination, design work (30%) • final control (70% control measure, exam), written-oral form (70%)
