Мета вивчення дисципліни: integration of acquired knowledge about chemical elements and inorganic compounds of chemical elements on a single theoretical basis, taking into account the modern scientific level.
Завдання: General competences: the ability to solve complex specialized tasks and practical problems of chemical technologies and engineering, which involves the application of theories and methods of chemical technologies and engineering and are characterized by the complexity and uncertainty of conditions. Professional competences: The ability to use professional knowledge and practical skills to solve specific tasks in the field of technologies of inorganic substances and water purification.
Learning outcomes: • to know the basic facts, conceptions, principles and theories that refers to chemistry, theoretical bases of technologies of production of inorganics substances; • be able to apply the knowledge and understanding of chemistry to resolve of quality and quantitative problems on chemical production, to estimate influence of technological factors on composition of finish product; • to have conception about mechanisms and principles of chemical transformation of substances and transformation of energy in them.

Summary of the subject: Basic concepts and laws are of chemistry. Structure is of atom. Periodic law and periodic system is of the elements. Chemical bond. Energy of chemical processes. Chemical kinetics. Chemical equilibrium. Properties of solutions are of non-electrolytes. The electrolytic of dissociation. The equilibrium in solutions is of electrolyte. The hydrolysis is of salts. Redox reactions. Electrochemistry. Complex compounds.
Опис: The most important theoretical positions of chemistry as a science that occupies a central place in the system of natural sciences and its importance in chemical and non-chemical technologies, energy, medicine, environmental protection systems, etc. are highlighted. Basic concepts, terms, definitions and laws of chemistry are outlined; issues of the theory of atomic structure and chemical bonding; energy, thermodynamic and kinetic regularities of the course of chemical reactions and the state of equilibrium. The properties of solutions, the theory of electrolytic dissociation of substances, hydrolysis of salts, oxidation-reduction and electrochemical processes, corrosion of metals and protection against it are considered. Systematized data on complex compounds. Examples of the calculation of important indicators of the course of chemical processes are given.
Assessment methods and criteria: • Writing reports from laboratory works, verbal questioning, and control work (30%); • Final control (70% control measure, examination): writing-verbal form (70%)

Порядок та критерії виставляння балів та оцінок: 100–88 points – (“excellent”) is awarded for a high level of knowledge (some inaccuracies are allowed) of the educational material of the component contained in the main and additional recommended literary sources, the ability to analyze the phenomena being studied in their interrelationship and development, clearly, succinctly, logically, consistently answer the questions, the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 87–71 points – (“good”) is awarded for a generally correct understanding of the educational material of the component, including calculations, reasoned answers to the questions posed, which, however, contain certain (insignificant) shortcomings, for the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical tasks; 70 – 50 points – (“satisfactory”) awarded for weak knowledge of the component’s educational material, inaccurate or poorly reasoned answers, with a violation of the sequence of presentation, for weak application of theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 49-26 points - ("not certified" with the possibility of retaking the semester control) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 25-00 points - ("unsatisfactory" with mandatory re-study) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to navigate when solving practical problems, ignorance of the main fundamental provisions.
