Мета вивчення дисципліни: • Studying the basics of the modern theory of the chemical structure of organic substances and its connection with the reactivity and properties of substances. Studying the mechanisms of the reactions of the transformation of organic substances and the peculiarities of the course of the most important reactions. 1. Familiarization with production methods, chemical properties and use of the main classes of organic substances. 2. Familiarization with the basic principles of modern classification and nomenclature of organic compounds. Mastery of knowledge about the main classes of organic substances, application of organic substances in the national economy. 3. Study of the general principles of evaluating the chemical properties of organic compounds, which are the basis for the synthesis and analysis of organic substances. 4. Familiarization with safety techniques in the chemical laboratory, with the technique of basic methods of isolation and purification, selected methods of synthesis, studying the properties and establishing the structure of organic substances. 5. Acquisition of knowledge about practical aspects of organic chemistry, ways and methods of using its achievements in the chemical industry and other branches of the economy. 6. Mastery of knowledge in the field of structure, production and properties of those classes of compounds that form the basis of most pharmaceutical preparations - such as derivatives of aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons, heterocyclic compounds, cycloparaffins, carbohydrates, fats, soaps, waxes, peptides and proteins, amino acids, terpenoids, alkaloids, etc. 7. The study of the program material will be carried out through lectures, laboratory work and independent work of students.
Завдання: As a result of the study of the academic discipline, the student must be able to demonstrate the following learning outcomes: the ability to solve complex specialized tasks and practical problems of chemical technologies and engineering during professional activity or training, which involves the application of theories and methods of chemical technologies and engineering and are characterized by the complexity and uncertainty of conditions ; the specialist should know: 1. Basic principles of modern classification and nomenclature of organic compounds. 2. Basics of theories of chemical structure, reactivity and course of chemical reactions of organic compounds 3. The main classes of organic synthetic and natural compounds, features of their chemical structure and its influence on chemical properties. 4. Basic methods of obtaining organic compounds, in particular those used in the chemical industry. 5. Basic methods of isolation, purification and identification of organic compounds. 6. The structure and chemical properties of those classes of organic compounds Chemistry of high molecular compounds, which are studied in further special courses: Chemistry and technology of organic substances, Chemistry of oil and gas, Chemistry of organic natural compounds, etc.
Learning outcomes: -To own strong knowledges on such fundamental questions, as a modern theory of chemical structure and reactivity of organic compounds, intermediates and reagents. - to Know dependences of chemical and physical properties of organic compounds on their steric structures. - to Know a capacity for the interconversions of different functional groups. - Knowledge of general industrial methods of synthesis, properties and application of representatives of basic classes of compounds, in chemical industry of organic synthesis and in other areas of science and technology. - to Іndependently conduct to experimental works on a synthesis, analysis and research of basic properties of organic compounds of different classes. - to Be acquainted with the modern methods of analysis of organic compounds: IR, UV, NMR spectroscopy, by a gas and liquid chromatography etc.

Summary of the subject: The course "Organic Chemistry" is dedicated to the study of the basics of the modern theory of the chemical structure of organic substances, the connection of the chemical structure with the reactivity and properties of substances, the study of the mechanisms of the transformation of organic substances and the peculiarities of the course of the most important reactions, the study of the basic principles of the modern classification and nomenclature of organic compounds, as well as methods production, chemical properties and use of the main classes of organic substances. .
Опис: Types of chemical bonds. Isomery. Electronic effects. Mechanisms of organic reactions. Acid and basic properties of organic compounds. A structure, isomery, methods of synthesis and chemical properties for the followings classes of organic compounds: Aliphatic hydrocarbons and their halides. Aliphatic amino- and nitrocompounds. Aliphatic alcohols, ethers, aldehydes, ketones, carboxylic acids.
Assessment methods and criteria: 2th semester (examination) – laboratory works – 20%, intermediate controls – 20%, control measure – 60%;

Порядок та критерії виставляння балів та оцінок: 100–88 points – (“excellent”) is awarded for a high level of knowledge (some inaccuracies are allowed) of the educational material of the component contained in the main and additional recommended literary sources, the ability to analyze the phenomena being studied in their interrelationship and development, clearly, succinctly, logically, consistently answer the questions, the ability to apply theoretical principles when solving practical problems; 87–71 points – (“good”) is awarded for a generally correct understanding of the educational material of the component, including calculations, reasoned answers to the questions, which, however, contain certain (insignificant) shortcomings, for the ability to apply theoretical principles when solving practical tasks; 70 – 50 points – (“satisfactory”) awarded for weak knowledge of the component’s educational material, inaccurate or poorly reasoned answers, with a violation of the sequence of presentation, for weak application of theoretical principles when solving practical problems; 49-26 points - ("not certified" with the possibility of retaking the semester control) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to apply theoretical principles when solving practical problems; 25-00 points - ("unsatisfactory" with mandatory re-study) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to navigate when solving practical problems, ignorance of the main fundamental provisions.
