Мета вивчення дисципліни: The study of the physical essence of the phenomena of chemical technology processes, the conditions and laws to which these phenomena correspond. Study of the design of typical equipment in which the process takes place. Mastering the methods of calculating equipment, its structure, design and construction. Studying the basics of the theory of similar processes and methods of transition from laboratory to industrial installations.

Summary of the subject: The discipline "Processes and devices of chemical technologies" involves the study of the physical essence of the main hydromechanical, thermal and mass exchange processes of chemical technologies. In this course, the main designs of devices, principles of their operation and calculation, advantages, disadvantages and fields of application are studied. Within the framework of this course, the study of the principles of large-scale transition from a model to a real apparatus and the transfer of experimental data obtained on one system model to another, which is an object of natural size (modeling), is provided, which is necessary for the design of most modern multiton production processes.
Опис: Mass exchange processes. Equilibrium during mass transfer. Mass transfer rate. Driving force. Material balance, the basic equation of mass yield and mass transfer. Coefficients of mass transfer and mass transfer, methods of their calculation. Calculation of mass transfer devices. Fundamentals of solid phase mass transfer. Absorption. General Information. Designs of attachment absorbers and their calculation. Designs of plate absorbers and their calculation Distillation and rectification. Laws of binary mixtures. Phlegm number. The influence of the phlegm number on the dimensions of the rectification column. Calculation of rectification columns and their construction. Periodic rectification. Special methods of rectification. Adsorption, ion exchange processes. General Information. Designs of adsorbers and ion exchangers. Drying. Basic parameters of moist air. I-th diagram of moist air. Equilibrium during drying. Material and heat balance of drying. Determination of air and heat parameters for drying. Variants of drying processes. Drying of various types of materials. Drying speed. Designs of dryers.
Assessment methods and criteria: The main methods of knowledge diagnosis are: current (PC) and semester control (SC), which is carried out from educational material, the scope of which is determined by the work program of the discipline for the semester. Current control is carried out during lectures and laboratory classes in order to check the level of assimilation of theoretical and practical knowledge and skills of the student. PC is conducted in the form of: written and oral control and defense of laboratory work. Semester control is conducted in the form of an exam (EC). The exam is a form of SC of the results of the student's studies in the academic discipline for the semester.

Порядок та критерії виставляння балів та оцінок: 100–88 points – (“excellent”) is awarded for a high level of knowledge (some inaccuracies are allowed) of the educational material of the component contained in the main and additional recommended literary sources, the ability to analyze the phenomena being studied in their interrelationship and development, clearly, succinctly, logically, consistently answer the questions, the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 87–71 points – (“good”) is awarded for a generally correct understanding of the educational material of the component, including calculations, reasoned answers to the questions posed, which, however, contain certain (insignificant) shortcomings, for the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical tasks; 70 – 50 points – (“satisfactory”) awarded for weak knowledge of the component’s educational material, inaccurate or poorly reasoned answers, with a violation of the sequence of presentation, for weak application of theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 49-26 points - ("not certified" with the possibility of retaking the semester control) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 25-00 points - ("unsatisfactory" with mandatory re-study) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to navigate when solving practical problems, ignorance of the main fundamental provisions.
