Мета вивчення дисципліни: Through the systematization of theoretical and practical knowledge from fundamental and professionally oriented disciplines, help students master the methodology of scientific research, develop the skills of independent research work, cultivate a creative attitude, and instill a taste for scientific research. Promote the increase of scientific activity of students to satisfy their scientific interests, which contributes to the development of the personality of the future specialist, his professional qualities.
Завдання: The study of an educational discipline involves the formation of competencies in students of education: general competences: - the ability to use knowledge in practical situations; - the ability to learn, to perceive the acquired knowledge in the subject area and to integrate it with the existing ones; - ability to plan and manage time; - ability to system thinking, production of new ideas, creativity; - commitment to safety; - the ability to work independently and in a team, the ability to communicate effectively on a professional and social level; - the ability to analyze and synthesize, the ability to identify, formulate, set and solve scientific (scientific and applied) tasks; - determination and perseverance in the performance of assigned tasks and responsibility for the quality of the work performed. professional competences: - an opportunity to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of basic facts, concepts, principles and theories related to chemistry; - mastery of methods of observation, description, identification, classification, objects of chemical technology and industrial products; - the ability to apply modern experimental methods of working with technological objects of chemistry in industrial and laboratory conditions, skills in working with modern measuring equipment; - the ability to interpret data obtained as a result of laboratory observations and measurements from the point of view of their significance and correlate them with the relevant theory; - the ability to use theoretical knowledge, practical skills and abilities to master the basics of theory and methods of chemical and technological research; - the ability to use theoretical knowledge, practical skills and abilities to analyze, evaluate and design technological processes and equipment using traditional and alternative raw materials; - the ability to calculate and process data, use information technologies to solve experimental and practical tasks in professional activities; - skills in safe handling of chemical materials, taking into account their physical and chemical properties, including any specific hazards associated with their use; - the ability to organize the work of the production unit in accordance with the requirements of life safety and labor protection in chemical production.
Learning outcomes: As a result of studying the academic discipline, the student must be able to demonstrate the following learning outcomes: - to know the organization of science in Ukraine; - to know the system of training scientific personnel; - to know the main stages of implementation and implementation of scientific research; - to know progressive scientific research methods; - to know modern chemical equipment and its application; - to know the equipment of research laboratories. - to be able to analyze scientific and technical information; - to be able to choose scientific research and evaluate its effectiveness; - to be able to work with scientific and technical information; - to be able to use chemical apparatus and equipment; - to be able to apply common instrumental methods of research and modern progressive scientific methods; - to be able to process the results of scientific research.

Assessment methods and criteria: Performance and defense of laboratory work, oral examination, test control, semester exam, which is conducted in written and oral form; examination before the commission with recording of questions and answers to them.
Критерії оцінювання результатів навчання: The student is allowed to take the semester control (in the form of an exam) only after the mandatory completion of an individual research task. The maximum number of points for the current control is 40 points; - the exam consists of two components: written (?=50 points) and oral (?=10 points); - the evaluation of the learning outcomes of the students is carried out in accordance with the 100-point evaluation scale established at the Lviv Polytechnic National University. The method of distribution and awarding of points to students of higher education is regulated by the Regulation on the organization and implementation of current and semester monitoring of study results of students of Lviv Polytechnic National University. Порядок та критерії виставляння балів та оцінок: 100–88 points – (“excellent”) is awarded for a high level of knowledge (some inaccuracies are allowed) of the educational material of the component contained in the main and additional recommended literary sources, the ability to analyze the phenomena being studied in their interrelationship and development, clearly, succinctly, logically, consistently answer the questions, the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 87–71 points – (“good”) is awarded for a generally correct understanding of the educational material of the component, including calculations, reasoned answers to the questions posed, which, however, contain certain (insignificant) shortcomings, for the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical tasks; 70 – 50 points – (“satisfactory”) awarded for weak knowledge of the component’s educational material, inaccurate or poorly reasoned answers, with a violation of the sequence of presentation, for weak application of theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 49-26 points - ("not certified" with the possibility of retaking the semester control) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; 25-00 points - ("unsatisfactory" with mandatory re-study) is awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to navigate when solving practical problems, ignorance of the main fundamental provisions.
