Learning outcomes: - know the basics of thermodynamic analysis of various chemical and technological processes; - know the design of standard equipment to ensure energy savings in production; - know the basics of energy technology, combining chemical-technological and energy processes to save fuel and energy resources and create waste-free technologies - be able to more efficiently operate equipment where complex thermal and mass transfer processes take place; - be able to identify and make full use of secondary energy resources in terms of saving fuel and energy resources; - be able to create waste-free technologies.

Summary of the subject: Thermodynamics as a science of energy and its properties. The concept of thermodynamic processes. Ideal gas and the basic laws of ideal gases. Heat, work, energy. The first law of thermodynamics and the form of its recording taking into account heat capacity and enthalpy. Entropy. Compression processes in the compressor. Thermodynamics of gas and vapor flow Speed of sound. Leakage of gases and vapors through channels of variable section. Go through the speed of sound. Laval nozzle. Throttle of gases and vapors. Joule – Thomson effect. Cycles. Thermal efficiency. The second law of thermodynamics. Carnot cycle and theorem. Properties of cycles. The combined equation of the first and second laws of thermodynamics. Water vapor. The process of vaporization. Thermal power steam cycles and refrigeration cycles.
Assessment methods and criteria: Defense of laboratory work, performance of test tasks on the topics of lectures, written component of examination control (test).
