Credits: 5.00
Department: Physical, Analytical and General Chemistry
Lecturer: prof. Shapoval P.Y.
Semester: 3 семестр
Mode of study: денна
Мета вивчення дисципліни: Students' acquisition of theoretical knowledge of analytical chemistry and their familiarization with the methods of qualitative and qualitative determination of the composition of the substances
Завдання: - the ability to solve complex, specialized tasks and practical problems of chemical technologies and engineering, which involves the application of the theory and methods of chemical technologies and engineering and are characterized by the complexity and uncertainty of conditions. - the ability to use methods of observation, description, identification, and classification of objects of chemical technology and industrial products.
Learning outcomes: • to assess the analytical capabilities of methods. • reasonably choose the appropriate method for solving a particular problem. • be able to carry out laboratory research in the group led by leader. • have the skills to use information and communication technologies. • use the laboratory analytical equipment and instruments efficiently. • accurately reproduce a technique by the description. • carry out metrological evaluation of precision and accuracy of the results.
Required prior and related subjects: • General and Inorganic Chemistry • Physics • Organic chemistry
Summary of the subject: The subject, tasks, basic concepts and classification of analytical chemistry methods. The theoretical basis of equilibria in homogeneous systems (aqueous solutions). The object and purpose of quantitative analysis. The acid-base titration methods. The redox titration methods. Complexometric methods of analysis. Equilibrium in heterogeneous systems (sediment-solution). Gravimetric analysis.

Assessment methods and criteria: • written reports of laboratory work, oral examination, tests (20 %) • final control (evaluation) (80 %) – differentiated test (pass-fail exam, grading test)
Критерії оцінювання результатів навчання: Current control (PC, 100 points): Colloquiums: 80 points; Control work: 6 points; Defence of laboratory work: 14 points.
Порядок та критерії виставляння балів та оцінок: - 100–88 points – (“excellent”) is awarded for a high level of knowledge (some inaccuracies are allowed) of the educational material of the component contained in the primary and additional recommended literary sources, the ability to analyze the phenomena being studied in their interrelationship and development, clearly, succinctly, logically, consistently answer the questions, the ability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; - 87–71 points – (“good”) is awarded for a generally correct understanding of the educational material of the component, including calculations and reasoned answers to the questions posed, which, however, contain certain (insignificant) shortcomings, for the ability to apply theoretical provisions during solving practical tasks; - 70 – 50 points – (“satisfactory”) are awarded for weak knowledge of the component’s educational material, inaccurate or poorly reasoned answers, a violation of the sequence of presentation, or weak application of theoretical provisions while solving practical problems; - 49-26 points - ("not certified" with the possibility of retaking the semester control) are awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to apply theoretical provisions when solving practical problems; - 25-00 points - ("unsatisfactory" with mandatory re-study) are awarded for ignorance of a significant part of the educational material of the component, significant errors in answering questions, inability to navigate when solving practical problems, and ignorance of the main fundamental provisions
