Мета вивчення дисципліни: teaching students about the procedure for design documentation of developing equipment and the organization of construction and installation works, designing equipment, pipelines, and workshop structures, structural features and operation principles of organic synthesis manufacture apparatuses, basics of technological calculation and apparatus layout principles.
Завдання: General competences: 1. Knowledge and understanding of the subject area and professional activity. 2. The ability to communicate orally and in writing in the national language. 3. The efforts to preserve the environment. Professional competences: 1. The ability to design chemical processes considering technical, legislative, and environmental constraints. 2. The ability to use modern materials, technologies, and apparatus designs in chemical engineering. 3. The ability to use professional knowledge and practical skills to solve specific tasks in organic substances' basic and fine synthesis technologies.
Learning outcomes: • Correctly use terminology based on the concept of chemistry, chemical technologies, processes, and equipment for manufacturing chemical substances and materials in professional activities. • To develop and implement projects related to technologies and equipment of chemical industries, taking into account goals, resources, existing constraints, social and economic aspects, and risks. • To understand the fundamental properties of structural materials and the principles and limitations of their application in chemical engineering. • To use modern computer equipment, specialized software, and information technologies to solve complex problems and practical problems in chemical engineering, particularly for calculations of equipment and processes of chemical manufacture. • To ensure the personnel and the environment safety during professional activity in chemical engineering.

Summary of the subject: The principles of developing design documentation for chemical equipment and organization of construction and installation work, features of designing devices and pipelines are outlined; properties of materials for the manufacture and protection of equipment; structural features and principles of operation of organic synthesis reactors, principles of technological calculation of reaction apparatus based on the data of operating plants, principles of design of workshop structures are considered; features of technological equipment layout.
Опис: Specificity of the equipment of organic synthesis plants. Design of technological equipment. Materials for production and protection of equipment. Thermal insulation for apparatus and pipelines. Structural features of technological equipment. Requirements for chemical reactors. Classification and application of the reaction apparatus. Principles of construction of the reactors. Reactors for gas-phase processes on the solid catalyst. Reactors for gas-phase processes using liquid catalysts. Assessment methods and criteria: Performance and defense of control and calculation-graphic exercises, oral and written examination, test control.
