Learning outcomes: Integral competence (INT): Ability to solve complex specialized problems and practical problems in the field of professional legal activity or in the learning process, which involves the application of legal doctrines, principles and legal institutions and is characterized by complexity and uncertainty of conditions. General competencies (GC): GC.1. Ability to abstract thinking, analysis and synthesis. GC.2. Ability to apply knowledge in practical situations. GC.3. Knowledge and understanding of the subject area and understanding of professional activity. GC.11. The ability to exercise their rights and responsibilities as a member of society, to realize the values of civil (free democratic) society and the need for its sustainable development, the rule of law, human and civil rights and freedoms in Ukraine. GC.12. Ability to be aware of equal opportunities and gender issues. GC.13. Ability to preserve and multiply moral, cultural, scientific values and achievements of society based on understanding the history and patterns of law, its place in the general system of knowledge about nature and society and in the development of society, technology. Special (professional) competencies (SC): SC1. Ability to apply knowledge of the basics of theory and philosophy of law, knowledge and understanding of the structure of the legal profession and its role in society. SC2. Knowledge and understanding of the retrospective of the formation of legal and state institutions. SC3. Respect for human honor and dignity as the highest social value, understanding of their legal nature. SС7. Ability to apply knowledge of the tasks, principles and doctrines of national law, as well as the content of legal institutions, at least in such areas of law as constitutional law, administrative law and administrative procedural law, civil and civil procedural law, criminal and criminal procedural law. SС13. Ability to critically and systematically analyze legal phenomena and apply the acquired knowledge in professional activities.

Summary of the subject: The theory of State and Law is a fundamental, methodological, ideological discipline, the importance of which in the system of jurisprudence is due to the universal system of knowledge about state and legal laws. The main task of this training course is to promote the training of highly qualified lawyers in Ukraine, able to take an active part in ensuring the basic rights of human beings and other actors, in building a democratic, legal state of Ukraine. This task can be accomplished to a large extent by mastering by law students the most general and defining patterns of origin, structuring, functioning and development of law and the state - patterns that are the subject of this science.
Assessment methods and criteria: Evaluation of student learning results is carried out in accordance with a 100-point score of assessment established at the university. The final assessment of the discipline consists of an assessment of the current control of learning outcomes during the semester and evaluation of learning outcomes during a control event during semester control – exam. The number of points allocated to the current control is 40 points. Examination control – 60 points. Maximum score in scores together for discipline – 100 points.
