Learning outcomes: Integral competence (INT): the ability to solve practical problems in the process of learning and during professional activities in the field of law and to apply legal theories and methods on the basis of current national legislation. General Competences (GC): GC2. Ability to apply knowledge in practical situations. GC11. The ability to exercise their rights and responsibilities as a member of society, to realize the values of civil (free democratic) society and the need for its sustainable development, the rule of law, human and civil rights and freedoms in Ukraine. GC12. Ability to be aware of equal opportunities and gender issues. Special (professional) competencies (SC): SC1. Ability to apply knowledge of the basics of theory and philosophy of law, knowledge and understanding of the structure of the legal profession and its role in society. SC3. Respect for human honor and dignity as the highest social value, understanding of their legal nature. SK7. Ability to apply knowledge of the tasks, principles and doctrines of national law, as well as the content of legal institutions, at least in such areas of law as constitutional law, administrative law and administrative procedural law, civil and civil procedural law, criminal and criminal procedural law. SC8. Knowledge and understanding of the peculiarities of the implementation and application of substantive and procedural law. SK12. Ability to analyze legal issues, form and justify legal positions. Program learning outcomes (PO): PO2. Analyze social processes in the context of the analyzed problem and demonstrate your own vision of ways to solve it. PO3. Carry out collection and integrated analysis of materials from various sources. PO4. Formulate your own sound judgments based on an analysis of a known problem. PO5. Give a brief conclusion on certain factual circumstances (data) with sufficient justification. PO7. Draw up and coordinate a plan of own research and independently collect materials from certain sources. PO15. Demonstrate the necessary knowledge and understanding of the essence and content of basic legal institutions and norms of fundamental branches of law. PO17. Apply the acquired knowledge in different legal situations, identify legally significant facts and form sound legal conclusions. PO22. Be able to use constitutional and legal mechanisms and tools for guaranteeing human rights, ensuring the rule of law and democracy. PO23. Analyze and correctly apply the rules of substantive and procedural law. PO24. Demonstrate knowledge of legal norms that determine the organization and content of public authorities. Communication (COM): COM4. Explain the nature of certain events and processes with an understanding of the professional and social context. Autonomy and responsibility (AR): AR1. Ability to adapt to new situations and make appropriate decisions. AR3. Ability to treat the work responsibly, to make decisions independently, to achieve the set goal in compliance with the requirements of professional ethics. AR4. Ability to demonstrate understanding of current legislation.
Required prior and related subjects: The previous subjects: Theory of State and Law. Related and following disciplines: Constitutional procedure; State (constitutional) law of foreign countries; State construction and local self-government bodies.
Summary of the subject: The constitutional law of Ukraine is a holistic training course. Its study should be consistent and systematic. Successful study of the course of constitutional law of Ukraine involves the development of students lecture material, its consolidation and deepening in practical (seminar) classes, independent study of normative, educational and scientific literature. Constitutional law of Ukraine as a discipline is of great importance in the training of future lawyers, because, on the one hand, forms a holistic vision of future professionals on the nature and content of Ukraine as a state of sovereign, democratic, legal and social, legal status of man and citizen in state, on the other - understanding of the constitutional legislation of Ukraine as a holistic, logically constructed legal system, its significance and role for all jurisprudence.
Assessment methods and criteria: Evaluation of student learning results is carried out in accordance with a 100-point score of assessment established at the university. The final assessment of the discipline consists of an assessment of the current control of learning outcomes during the semester and evaluation of learning outcomes during a control event during semester control – exam. The number of points allocated to the current control is 40 points. Examination control – 60 points. Maximum score in scores together for discipline – 100 points.
